CASSI Gets a Powerful Upgrade and a Major Pivot

Hi everyone It’s Alex here! It’s been a while since we over here at the CASSI team have spoken to everyone. So let’s change that and outline exactly what it is we are working on right now and, as the title says, why we had to make a drastic major pivot to a new CASSI that is much better, faster, and scalable for everyone. Now, the old version of CASSI isn’t going anywhere for now, but it has had a shift in direction and how it is used and marketed to our current users and audiences (So don’t worry; it is not going anywhere anytime soon). I will discuss later on exactly what has shifted around and why we did it, so let’s stop messing around and jump into it.

What do you mean pivot!?

So, in November last year, we realised that the codebase for CASSI was getting unmanageable and more and more complex as it got bigger and bigger. Coupled with the fact that the onboarding process required a major uptake from our small team and asked an incredible lot from our end users. We also marketed this as an easy-to-use, fun, fully self-serving, social media experience, which to be blunt it just wasn’t that at all. We were also receiving a lot of feedback from potential users, clients, friends, family, and colleagues all saying the same thing: “It’s just too hard”, “Why does it take so long?” among many other feedbacks and blank faces as we tried to explain it to them. Now, I won’t bash it any further because there is still value in this beast of a product, which I will discuss later on, but first, let's talk about this new direction.

Once we realised all of this, we went back to the drawing board and identified these problems and areas that we wanted to address:

Once we identified the major pain points, we went back to the drawing board, and the Dev team and I set out with one clear goal: We must make a product that is trimmed right down and focus on Social Media post generation and remove all the unnecessary out-of-date slow AI tools. It must be quick, with minimal clicking, to get to that final post and finally a familiar UI that everyone can pick up and just jump in and try out and understand straight away.

So, with these in mind, we set ourselves a 3-week sprint, and in that time, we created the brand new CASSI that created a ready-to-go social media post (text and image), all on brand with your tone of voice and target market in mind in seconds as supposed to the old 10 minute time we used to have. We achieved all 3 of our goals in a very short space of time, and I am incredibly proud of the team for getting this done in such a short space of time. We also made it so you can just connect your LinkedIn account, and then we do all the heavy lifting to get your brand voice and style into the AI, so no more copying and pasting thousands of old posts (Yes, I had to do that manually).

We have also been testing it with the market and in general, it is much more understandable and easy to use than before and has received mostly positive reviews with also plenty of wishes and improvements that we could make to it. Whereas before if we wanted to make a change, even if it was small, it was months of work because of how broad and wide the older version of CASSI was. Now, with this lean product, we can react much quicker whilst we still iron out all the kinks and build it much slower and towards the market demands and wishes.

In short, nothing. It is not going anywhere anytime soon. We are just shifting the direction of this; our current users have nothing to worry about and can continue using it forever. However, our future users, it is going to change a little bit as we realise from the points before it is not exactly a self-serving ready-to-go tool, but what it is is massively scalable, and if you need to generate thousands, tens of thousands pieces of individualised content then CASSI Pro is for you. That’s right It is being rebranded as well for the time being to CASSI Pro. This new direction is not self serving but is perfect for your very specific use cases: you need 20k new landing pages. This pivot taught us something critical: scalability starts with simplicity. In our earlier iteration, we chased the allure of being a “Swiss Army knife” for content creation. But as any good product team knows, trying to be everything to everyone often means becoming nothing to anyone. By narrowing our focus to social media post generation, we could obsess over perfecting one thing—speed and ease of use—while building a foundation that allows for controlled, intentional growth.

From a business perspective, this shift also unlocked clearer monetisation pathways. The new CASSI’s freemium model lowers the barrier to entry, while CASSI Pro serves enterprise clients with complex, high-volume needs. It’s a classic “land and expand” strategy—but with a twist. By decoupling the two products, we avoid diluting the value proposition for either audience.

  2. Design Studio 2.0: Custom fonts, adjustable post dimensions, and granular branding controls will debut alongside our new onboarding experience in the next month. No more “why won’t this align?!” headaches. ✨

  3. Prompting++: Rolling out an AI that adapts to custom colour palettes and hyper-detailed brand profiles. Think of it as a creativity co-pilot. 🚀

  4. Image Studio Upgrades: You can already upload photos—but wait. We’re adding inpainting (edit out unwanted elements), background removal, and style transfer (make that product shot match your brand’s moody aesthetic). Yes, we know Inpainting is already there but it needs some love! 🎨
